Rug Sizes
Living Room
In the living room, pick a rug large enough that at least the front legs of your sofa and armchairs rest on it. As a rule of thumb, leave about 20-30 cm of rug visible around the seating group and keep a similar gap to the walls. Most living rooms work well with a 160x230 cm or 200x290 cm rug, while large, open-plan spaces suit 240x340 cm and above.
Kitchen
In the kitchen, choose easy-to-clean, low-pile or washable rugs. A runner around 80x300 cm is ideal in front of counters and along galley kitchens, while a 120x180 cm rug suits an open kitchen or the spot in front of the sink. Make sure the rug lies flat and does not curl at the edges to avoid trips.
Dining Table
Under a dining table, the rug should extend at least 60-70 cm beyond every edge so the chairs stay on the rug even when pulled out. For a table seating 4-6 people a 200x290 cm rug is usually right; larger tables call for 240x340 cm or more. Round rugs pair beautifully with round tables.
Bedroom
Bedroom Rug Size
When choosing the right rug size, focus on the size of your bed. Placing a large rug under the bed is the most common approach and makes it the focal point of the room. Placing a smaller rug beside the bed is also a good accent choice, creating a soft surface for your feet to step onto.

RUGS — A TIMELESS DECORATIVE ELEMENT
All Rug Types“Can a home really be without a rug?” is one of the most common phrases people preparing to set up a new home hear in our country. The place rugs hold in our culture as a floor covering, their range of uses, the sense of warmth they provide, and the ever-growing variety of modern rug models have set rugs apart from other decorative elements. When decorating a room, priority is usually given to items like furniture, curtains, and paint colors, with rug selection often left to the very end. In fact, people often consult more experienced elders in the family when choosing a rug.
Among rug brands, Apex — whose name has become synonymous with non-slip rugs — began its journey in the 1990s by reviving the nearly forgotten, hand-woven mohair kilims once made on looms. In the years that followed, consumer demand shifted toward rugs that were not only a decorative element but also practical to use. Thus, in the early 2000s, consumers were introduced to the concepts of modern rugs, non-slip rugs, antibacterial rugs, and washable rugs. Having made considerable progress in printed rugs over many years, Apex specialized in particular in kitchen rugs, bathroom rugs, and hallway rugs used on wet floors.
Setting out with the vision of becoming a rug brand that creates a sense of belonging in its customers, Apex has, over the years, brought rug models that enhance quality of life and delight the eye to an ever-growing customer base. Wanting to show that fashion applies not only to clothing but also to modern rugs, Apex spent many years creating original and innovative pattern and color designs.
An indispensable part of home decoration, rugs are offered to suit your taste in a wide variety of models. In the past, limited yarn options meant that only wool rugs could be produced, whereas today, with an expanding range of yarns, Acrylic Rugs, Bamboo Rugs, Cotton Rugs, and Polyester rugs have also taken their place in the market. In addition, thanks to advancing rug-weaving techniques and Turkey being one of the leading countries in rug production, rug prices have reached quite reasonable levels in recent years. Rug sizes have benefited from this variety as well. While in the past only 4-square-meter and 6-square-meter rug sizes were available, today round rugs, oval rugs, and runner rug sizes are also available. Since homes in our country come in different architectural layouts, cut-to-size rugs that customers can customize to their desired dimensions are now available across many of our models.
Developments in rugs did not stop there. In the old days, only dark-colored, medallion-style rug models were available. With the fashion trends that later emerged, neon colors such as green, turquoise, and yellow have also come into use. Because it is a neutral color, gray rugs and solid-color rug models are also quite plentiful.
Our product range includes living room rugs, kitchen rugs, machine-made rugs, hallway rugs, and hand-woven rugs. In recent years, the vintage trend sweeping through every field has taken hold of rugs as well. Adding vintage rugs, patchwork rugs, and retro rug models to its product line, Apex is one of the companies with the widest selection of rug models in this area. Along with bamboo fiber, which has revolutionized the textile industry, bamboo rug models with a silk-like sheen have also found their place among our collections.
Rug prices vary depending on the product’s weave, yarn quality, size, and technical features. Consumers of all ages who love to stand out can find products suited to their own taste and budget at attractive prices — among hundreds of different rug models and colors — on our website and at our points of sale. With our realistic and stable rug pricing policy, they can buy online with a return guarantee.
